Laura was born in central Indiana and grew up in central Arkansas. She moved to Las Vegas in November of 2005 and joined MDL Group in June of 2009 as a Bookkeeper.
She got her start in Accounting with a McDonald’s franchise owner in Arkansas in the late 1980s. That franchisee grew from one restaurant to eleven. During her time with McDonald’s, she wrote a proprietary software user manual that was used by other franchise owners throughout the Arkansas area. Aside from restaurant accounting, she also has experience in construction accounting.
Laura’s hobbies include running, baking and crocheting. She loves to travel and in particular she enjoys cruising.
She has completed several 5Ks and half marathons for various charities throughout the Las Vegas area including: Ronald McDonald House Charities, Vegas Strong 5K and Susan G Komen Breast Cancer. She also “Scaled the STRAT” for 5 consecutive years to benefit the American Lung Association. This stairclimbing event ascends 1,455 steps and 108 floors.
As Director of Accounting, Ms. Cornwell serves on the MDL Group Leadership Team, contributing towards the development of short-term and long-term strategic goals, including customer service, staff development, and company operations.
