On March 1st, during NAIOP Southern Nevada’s annual Spotlight Awards, Hayim Mizrachi received the prestigious Ellie Shattuck Award, an honor that recognizes individuals dedicated to mentoring the next generation in the commercial real estate industry. NAIOP, the commercial real estate development association, created this award in memory of Ellie Shattuck, a remarkable leader at Martin-Harris who was passionate about guiding future industry professionals.
This award is a testament to Hayim’s extraordinary commitment to mentorship. His recognition stems from co-founding the Developing Organizational Leadership Institute (DOLI), an initiative that has redefined mentorship in the real estate industry. Unlike the traditional one-on-one approach, DOLI systematized the mentorship process to reach a broader audience, making an impact on over 30 individuals across two classes, with a third class launched March 2025.
Hayim’s leadership in DOLI has taken mentorship to unprecedented heights. Beyond just building the program, he exemplifies the values it represents by empowering others to take charge. In a notable move, he passed the DOLI committee chair role to DOLI class graduate, Kari Laurent, an act that reflects his belief in not just guiding others but allowing them to lead. As Hayim transitions to being a committee member at DOLI, he continues to embody the essence of mentorship: enabling others to grow and succeed.
Hayim’ philosophy of mentorship is captured in his own words, “Mentorship isn’t a task, it’s a way of showing up. It’s about seeing potential before someone believes it themselves. It’s about opening doors, sharing lessons, and reminding people that they don’t need permission to do something that matters.”
His actions align seamlessly with this philosophy, proving that mentorship is about much more than guidance; it’s about creating lasting systems for success. From his first meeting with NAIOP to becoming Chapter President and co-creating DOLI alongside Katrina Bruce, Hayim’s journey exemplifies the power of mentorship in transforming lives and industries. He has not only benefited from being mentored but has also dedicated himself to paying it forward in ways that elevate those around him.
The Ellie Shattuck Award shines a spotlight on the profound impact Hayim has made, but more importantly, it recognizes his dedication for lifting others up. Congratulations to Hayim for this well-deserved honor—it is a powerful reminder that leadership is measured by the success of those you help rise.
