On Friday, August 22, the MDL Group team traded in our office attire for paddles and sneakers at Chicken N Pickle. This wasn’t just a friendly pickleball game night. It was another chance to celebrate what makes MDL Group unique… our people, the connections we share, and how dang competitive we can be!!
We reserved three courts for our very own pickleball tournament. Attendees checked in as either beginner or intermediate, and then doubles teams were formed by pairing a beginner with an intermediate player at random. The brackets were set, and the competition was on!
Of course, not everyone came to compete. Several teammates and family members who didn’t join the official tournament still took to the courts to “dink” around between rounds. For many, it was their very first time trying pickleball, and some might have caught Pickleball Fever.
After several rounds of lively matches, we crowned our top finishers:
- 1st Place: Brian Singleton & Suzanne Lea
- 2nd Place: Espen Hild & Keith Yamashita
- 3rd Place: Hayim Mizrachi & Eddy Yamashita

A big thank-you goes to our tournament organizer, Fredrik Kummernes, and to Deb Sinclair, Laura Cornwell, and Desiree Lowery for keeping the games running smoothly.

This outing was about more than the activity itself. It was about creating connective tissue. The sound of laughter, frustrations, cheers, and paddles echoed the same theme we live every day: MDL Group isn’t just where we work—it’s where we belong.
These moments off the clock strengthen our bonds, remind us why we enjoy showing up for each other, and carry over into how we serve the clients who trust us with their real estate needs.
Here’s to more pickleball and more memories made together!
